The Gurgenidze System

The Gurgenidze is something of a rare bird these days, but there is enough strategical content in Mordue-Littlejohns 2007 #2 to give readers a taste of what it's about. There are general strategical observations but no tactical features in this opening; there aren't really any because of the nature of the system. However, Mordue-Arkell 1987, Mordue Arkell 2002 and Mordue-Littlejohns 2007 #2 have prolonged tactical episodes later on.
