Meanwhile Dave Woodcock did well on his return to the team with a draw on board 6. He had won the exchange but the position was too blocked to convert the win.

Ian had a fairly turgid draw where his early lead in development came to nothing against his opponent's solid play, which left the scores level with boards 2 and 3 to come.

Alexis played very well to control the board with his bishops and their domination led to the win of much material. Dave was under pressure with pawn weaknesses that eventually became a deficit of two, whereupon he resigned, bringing the final score to a 3-3 draw.
