Who doesn't love a spot of chess? Exactly. Well this is the club for you! Downend & Fishponds are one of the largest chess clubs in the South West of England. We're home to a whole range of ages and skills, for players who want to play socially, competitively, or simply improve their game.
Downend & Fishponds also enter a whopping six teams in the Bristol & District Leagues with many challenging for titles, while the rest are gunning for promotion in their respective leagues. All members are given the opportunity to play as much competitive league chess as they like, regardless of skill or experience.
We meet every Wednesday at The Fishponds Club, from 19:30. These meetings are all year round, come rain or shine. We're always on the look out for new players, so come along and give it a go!
