2017 British Championships

Oli played in the under 140/1450 and finished 1st equal (with several others) remaining unbeaten on 4/5.
Great work Oli!

Toby played in the very strong under 12's, finishing 7th out of 44, and scored a solid 4½/7.
Great work Toby!

Grant played in the under 140/1450 and scored 1½/5 (too much wine).
Great stamina Grant!

Richard Livermore also played in the under 140/1450, scoring 2/4 (the draw specialist).. Richard didn't make the 5th round, due to too much wine consumed over the week, or was it beer.. Actually it was both... Well done to Grant for outlasting him.

Jerry had a memorable week playing in the main championship and scored a fantastic 3½/7 with only three draws! Jerry's two excellent wins came back to back in his last two rounds. Bring on next season!

It was an excellent week, with loads of chess, and loads of good food, sea air, and of course, good company... And too much wine!

The juniors were full of life and able to get some excellent coaching on tap. Toby and Oli getting regular post game analysis from both Tim Kett and Malcolm Pein. All good 'grist to the mill'.

However, no rest for Toby and Oli as they are off to the Terafinals this weekend. This time David Howell in attendance for coaching and analysis. Keep it up boys!
