Club photos collected over the years.
The earliest known club photograph shows the opening of the hut in June 1950. Ron Slade, one of the strongest players in Bristol in the immediate post-war years did the honours. Looking on (left foreground) is Club President and Chairman, Billy Rolls, who provided the finance for the hut. The Chairman of Mangotsfield U.D.C attended. Other founder members are as yet unidentified.
Mrs. W.J. Matthews kept a scrapbook of cuttings from the local papers, including many chess columns and photos relating to the club.
